Food Engineer from the Federal University of Rio Grande (1999), master’s degree (2002) and doctorate (2009) in Engineering and Food Science in the same university. Main research topics in: cultivation of microalgae and its applications in food, pharmaceutical and third generation biofuels industry; Submerged and solid state fermentation; Bioremediation of oily residues in soils with the use of microbial biosurfactants. Professor at the University of Passo Fundo since 2002, in the undergraduate courses in Food Engineering and Environmental Engineering, as well as in the Graduate Programs: Food Science and Technology and Civil and Environmental Engineering. Coordinator of the Post-Graduate Program in Food Science and Technology of UPF.
